Welcome to the Al Brown Memorial Library
James Alvis Brown (1928—1997)
Many people have come and gone during the seventy odd years since the church was established in Spring, TX. Some have been as a ship passing in the night while the godly influence of others is still an abiding presence. Each congregation of God's people standing for the Truth and determined to live according to the Lord's will come what may inevitably have had their intrepid soldiers of Christ, stalwarts of the Faith. The members of the Spring congregation indeed owe a debt of gratitude to those persons of great faith who have gone before them.
The elders of the Spring church of Christ have chosen to honor just such a one. James Alvis Brown, known to most as simply Al, began working with the Spring congregation in 1984. The Spring brethren's current stand on the bedrock of God's Truth is in no small measure a result of the faithful gospel preaching of Al Brown.
It is, then, to Al Brown that this library is dedicated. We thank God always for the example of his love for men's souls and his loyalty to the cause of Christ. This small honor may not measure up to the service rendered to Spring by Al, but it is altogether fitting as Al would appreciate those who love to study the riches and depth of God's Word.
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)
Remember, the Bible is the standard for measuring every other book (John 12 :48; Colossians 3:17).
